My best friend's wedding - Su Ann & Joe Han (17 December 2011)

"To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness or in health, to love and to cherish, till death do us part."

Firstly and once again, I would like to congratulate my beautiful dearest best friend, Su Ann, for her wedding with her sweetheart, Joe Han...

It was indeed a very sweet, touching, beautiful and lovely wedding... I can say it was the best wedding I have ever been to... Su Ann has put so much time and effort into it... making preparations and arrangements even into the smallest details for this special day which turns out so wonderful... the colour theme for her wedding was BLUE & GREY... venue at Parkroyal Hotel...

I was one of Su Ann's bridesmaids together with Susan... making 3 of us together...

The morning session which is the ROM was held at the hotel's garden overlooking the beautiful beach... red carpet was laid out, chairs are being arranged with blue ribbons tied to them and a lovely arch are being set up overlooking the beach which makes the scene so beautiful... as the flower girl walks in 'sprinkling' flower petals on the ground, followed by Su Ann's two beautiful and cute nieces and of course not forgetting the bridesmaids (three of us were all so nervous about the walk that we even tried to practise it late in the middle of the night at the vacant garden in the dark... hahaha), and finally, here comes the lovely bride of the day wearing a long beautiful custom made white wedding gown tied with blue ribbon walking down the aisle holding her brother's arm... as about to reach the end of the aisle, suddenly Su Ann stop to give her beloved dad a kiss and a hug which brings tears to everyone's eyes as it was so touching and beautiful... and this is the first time ever I cried in a wedding... tears of joy...

Su Ann requested us bridesmaids a few months back to make preparations to give a speech during her wedding dinner... when I first heard it, I was so reluctant as I have this stage fright where nervous will start to set in, your hands and mouth are shaking, eyes become blurry, voice shaking too and your mind will blank out... serious, isn't it??? Hahaha... Anyway, I agreed and promised her that I will do my very best to give a speech for her special wedding in spite of maybe I will black out on stage... Hahaha...

So as the night starts progressing and the time starts approaching for me to give my speech on stage, I was very nervous, of course... but I managed to give my speech (*jumping with joy*) and pull it through in front of nearly 300 people... so scared... I can notice my voice shakes a bit but I delivered it as I promised... (anything for you, just for you)... attached in the end is my speech written especially for you, dear Su Ann... I really hope you like it... :)

The night went on by with special appearance by Santa Claus giving out presents to the children, and a speech by the best man - Andrew... followed by a toast by the toast master - Alfred (also another best man)... then there were the first dance for the newly weds and then joined in by the bridesmaids and best mans and the family members and friends... of course not forgetting the traditional throwing of flower bouquet by the bride to the single ladies (it used to be a superstition that anyone who got something from the bride would have good fortune in finding a mate - thus who catches the flower bouquet gets married next) and a speech given by Joe...

All in all, as how Susan puts it, "So happy to witness and also to be part of such a beautiful & blessed wedding -  something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue.. there were lotsa simple yet precious & touching moments filled with so much ♥, laughter, happiness & even tears of joy for everyone to cherish & bring home.."

Lastly, this is my bridesmaid's speech to the lovely couple :-
"Good evening! I am Loretta, one of the bridesmaids for our lovely bride. I want to start by congratulating the bride and groom, which by the way look absolutely stunning and gorgeous today. On behalf of them I would like to thank everyone for sharing their day by coming here tonight.

Su Ann, when I think back on our adventures since school days, I have nothing but fond memories. You have always been such a great friend to me in so many ways. We’ve had a lot of fun and laughter together and you have always been there for me when things were tough. You are one of the kindest, sweetest, most generous and unselfish people I have ever known.

And Joe, it’s been such a pleasure getting to know you for the past couple of years. I know that you love Su Ann with all your heart and you will cherish her for the rest of your life.

My greatest wish for both of you is that your love for each other will deepen and grow in years to come. I also wish you will have a continued loving friendship and partnership, that you’ll enjoy success and laughter and be blessed with lovely children.

Last but not least, may you both continue to love, respect, and take care of each other and may your marriage be blessed with lots of happiness. I wish you the very best and all my love to the both of you. Thank you."

With lots of love always, xoxo.... ♥♥

'New Year’s Eve' Movie

Story: New Year's Eve celebrates love, hope, forgiveness, second chances and fresh starts, in the intertwining stories told amidst the pulse and promise of New York City on the most dazzling night of the year.

It only happens once a year: New Year's Eve. It's a time when hopeless can be romantic, and a resolution can become a revelation. And when one night can change everything.

Taglines
The one night anything is possible.
Let the countdown begin.

Starring
Ashton Kutcher, Robert De Niro, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Halle Berry, Jessica Biel, Jon Bon Jovi, Katherine Heigl, Sofia Vergara, Sarah Jessica Parker, Hilary Swank, Josh Duhamel, Michelle Pfeiffer, Zac Efron, Lea Michele, Abigail Breslin, Héctor Elizondo, Seth Meyers, Til Schweige...

Overall, it's a great movie... for me, anyway... from Ashton Kutcher, Zac Efron, Jon Bon Jovi to Katherine Heigl... LOVE IT!!! The speech given by Hilary Swank is also superb... And the dance moves by Zac Efron in the end.... wow!!!

This is how the great speech goes:-
"It's suspended there to remind us before we pop the champagne and celebrate the new year, to stop and reflect on the year that has gone by. To remember both our triumphs and our missteps, our promises made and broken. The times we opened ourselves up to great adventures or closed ourselves down for fear of getting hurt coz that is what new years is all about - getting another chance. A chance to forgive, to do better, to do more, to give more, to love more. And stop worrying about what if and start embracing what would be. So when that ball drops at midnight and it will drop, let's remember to be nice to each other, kind to each other. And not just tonight but all year long... "

So let's countdown to 2012... hope the year 2012 will bring all of us more love, happiness, luck, wealth and health... Happy New Year, everyone...

P/S : Who are you gonna kiss at the strike at midnight??? :)
